Presentation

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundations Culture of Health Prize honors and elevates U.S. communities that are making great strides in their journey toward better health for all.  In 2018, 183 communities applied for the $25,000 cash prize.  Sitka made it to the final round of 12 communities.  This Spring RWJF will be visiting Sitka and the prize winners, usually 4-6 communities, will be announced in the fall of 2019.  Sitka Community Hospital’s Director of Health Promotion & Sitka Health Summit Coalition member, Doug Osborne, will be highlighting what went into Sitka’s essays, the benefits of  prize , and ideas on how everyone can help to build a culture of health for all. The presentation will also include a brief overview of Sitka’s annual snap shot of health with the RWJF county health rankings.  SEARHC health educator and Sitka Cycling Club member Emma Klein will do a special presentation and raffle as well.
